music video meltdown (mvm)
MVM is a pandemic-born music video show, hosted on twitch.tv, and curated by an ever-growing array of pop culture pros. Inspired by the cyclical block-programming of late 90’s and early 00’s era MTV, Fuse, IMF, and VH1- mvm bridges both old and new musical artists, sometimes shows movies, music related docs, and notable adverts from the pre-internet times. My goal with mvm is to recreate the experience of happening upon new music via music video while emulating a sorely missed bygone era of television I personally grew up on.
In the year of our lord, 2023, this has become more sporadic event, but rest assured I have things cooking for this project. 🙏

How long does it have to be?
You can submit 30mins or 60mins (doesn’t have to be exact).
Can I send in something I recut/remixed?
No, it's really a meant to just be music videos. Scroll down to read about mvm: videomusik
How about a music video I directed/worked on?
Yes!
Are live shows/performances ok?
Yes!
Can I include a video that's already been shown in a block?
In honor of the TRL format of up-voting videos yes, but the limit is 1 rerun per block. You can find the running record here. Spotify playlist can be found here. There will be block reruns sometimes so aim for new vids.
Can I curate a block more than once?
Yes!
Is any genre of music welcome?
Yes!
Does the block have to follow a theme or time period?
No, melt whatever you want. Or maybe your melt is to theme, do as you will.
I don't want to do a full block, but I want to request a vid for a block.

Do the blocks live anywhere after they air?
Occasionally case by case, but up to you if you’d like to host it somewhere permanently. Otherwise everything winds up in the master YT playlist eventually.
Submission Guidelines:
Collect the videos you want, in the order you want on a YouTube playlist and email to music.video.meltdown@gmail.com. Please also include a Spotify playlist if possible.
Please do include an ideal stream date if you have one in mind, but note that there are no guarantees. Also, feel free to join the discord, it’s extremely chill in there.
! ! ! One more thing-
Your block will be rejected if it promotes any of the following:
Racism
Homophobia
Transphobia
Misogyny
Hate crimes
You will not be considered for future streams if you submit anything that promotes those things- so do submit wisely.
